Life at Home with Benjamin

Well, all I have to say is that we are truly blessed with a wonderful child! He eats and sleeps so well and is so pleasant in nature! I find myself kissing his cute little cheeks all the time.Daddy is back to work and it's been quite an adjustment for all of us not having him home or at the hospital with us. Chris is really living out our marital vows, "For better or for worse...in sickness and in health." He has waited on me hand-and-foot and anytime I drop something on the floor, he says, "I'll get it for you!" (What a sweetheart!)Benjamin loves his daddy! Chris is able to console this child, feed him and put him to sleep! It's the best feeling in the world knowing that your husband is capable and willing to care for your child the way you would.Just this morning, he made certain to close our bedroom door when Benjamin started fussing to eat and then made sure to change his diaper (nasty, poopy one), feed him and bring him into me before he left for work all swaddled and happy! Boy was I a very grateful and happy wife and mommy! My husband deserves the best first Father's Day ever!

Welcome to the World, Baby Boy!

Well, only our son would have to come into the world and make such a grand entrance! After 23 1/2 hours of labor and 2 hours of pushing, Benjamin still didn't want to come out of the birth canal.Turns out...he was face-up and sideways! Needless to say, a c-section at this point was our only option. Little man was born with quite a pair of lungs and mommy and daddy could only stare and cry (mommy was quite emotional) when holding him up to us in the operating room. A wave of immense joy and relief flooded over us, and we realized that this bundle was ours to care for and love for all time...what a grand and
wonderful responsibility!
